What we do and how we do it
At KWS Seuren we focus entirely on testing, repairing, re-celling and developing e-bike batteries. We do this for private users, but above all for bike shops, insurers, care institutions and other business partners. Below we explain exactly what we do and how we work.
Diagnosis
Every battery that comes in is tested thoroughly first. Among other things, we check:
Capacity and cell balance
Communication with the bike
Whether the BMS works as it should
Error codes and faults
For this we use test rigs set up for the brand, the type and the software version of the battery. Based on the diagnosis we draw up a concrete proposal for a repair or a cell replacement.
Cell replacement
Is the battery worn out but technically still in good condition? Then we re-cell it. We replace the old cells with new A-grade lithium-ion cells that perform as well or better. The whole process follows the correct specifications for that battery.
Complete replacement of the cell pack
Original BMS retained (if it works properly)
New thermal and mechanical protection
Quality check with a final report
Replacing or developing electronics
Sometimes it is not only the cell pack that is faulty, but the circuit board or BMS as well. For many battery types we can replace or repair these electronics. In other cases we develop our own circuit boards, which are 100% compatible with the original bike.
A fix for error codes and indicators that no longer work
Support for older battery types for which parts are no longer available
Flexible solutions
Refurbished batteries
For customers who need a replacement quickly, we also supply re-celled batteries from stock. They have been re-celled and tested, and come with new cells and a warranty.
Available straight away
Ready to use
Sensibly priced

New premises in Beugen, 2025
Since 2025 we have been working from our new premises at Transportcentrum in Beugen. We have more space here and a modern workshop, plus safe storage for lithium batteries. It means we can keep re-celling, repairing and collecting (e-bike) batteries safely, to a higher standard and for years to come.
2025: our new workshop in Beugen is in use
The basic facilities are finished and the workshop is now fully in use. Our team already works from the new building, while the fitting-out and furnishing of the offices and reception areas is still in full swing.
A workshop with modern equipment for cell replacement and diagnosis
More space and a better overview in logistics and assembly
The rest of the building is being fitted out step by step
June 2025: roll-out of our own circuit board
After months of development, KWS Seuren introduces these circuit boards, designed entirely in-house. Among other things, these electronics make it possible to repair and re-cell Van Raam batteries again, with the original functions intact.
2025: a look behind the scenes at KWS Seuren
In a new video recorded by Eric Peters, we take customers and partners through our whole process, from the moment a battery arrives to its final check. We show how we work, what we test for, and how safety and quality come first at every step.
2024: official repair partner of ENRA Verzekeringen
KWS Seuren becomes preferred supplier for ENRA, one of the largest bicycle insurers in the Netherlands. Since then we have handled the repair and cell replacement of batteries that are reported through bike shops as damaged or faulty.
Highest point reached
The building takes on its final shape.
Construction starts
Groundwork has started for the first phase
2024: rebuilding the KWS Seuren premises
2024 is the year in which we rebuild our premises completely. The drawings are finished and the calculations are getting their final touches. We are ready to start.
New service van in use
Our service van lets us visit both existing and new customers, so we can extend our service and be more visible at the same time.
February 2023: E-bike Xperience at Jaarbeurs Utrecht
Many well-known brands and new e-bikes on show, with a test track for the various e-bikes at the fair. Good to see that the e-bike market is still growing strongly.
2022
Presentation for Domino's Pizza
We were invited to give a presentation to a large group of franchisees of Domino's Pizza Netherlands about (faulty) delivery bike batteries, covering both the opportunities and the risks.
September 2022: Velovak
Trade fair for the two-wheeler sector in Gorinchem. Many of our business customers were at this fair.
2021
MT/Sprout
MT/Sprout named KWS Seuren one of the 25 most promising under-25s of 2021.
2021: the whole building in Beugen
A year later we were using the whole building.
2020
At the start of 2020 we moved to a warehouse of more than 1,100 square metres in Beugen (municipality of Boxmeer). About 25 employees work together here every day from Monday to Saturday, on everything from battery repairs to complete cell replacements and diagnosis, mainly of e-bike batteries.
2019
In 2019 we took on our first employee for repair and cell replacement work, because requests kept increasing and we already had a regular customer base by then. In the same year we became a recognised training company, so that we can offer work placements as well.
2018
This year, alongside our studies, we were busy expanding our customer base for e-bike batteries, from business customers to consumers all over the Netherlands.
2017
In 2017 we started actively repairing and re-celling all kinds of batteries. This was back when all three brothers were still studying. The workshop was in the attic at the back of the house.
About KWS Seuren
With years of experience and our own development department, we have a solution for almost every e-bike battery, from well-known brands to specialist models. We re-cell, repair and test batteries from Giant, Bosch, Bafang, Flyer, Batavus, Sparta and Trek, among others, as well as less common systems and older types.
We also build custom batteries for use in mobility, care and industry: from adapted bikes and scooters to batteries for boats, lifting equipment, household appliances and tools. Even for batteries that others say are beyond saving, we often still find a solution.
Whatever is wrong with your battery, we will look at it with you and get you moving again.
