E-bike battery cell replacement at KWS Seuren: how it works

We have carried out more than 45,000 repairs and cell replacements, and our range covers more than 825 products, including popular models such as the Bosch PowerPack 400 and 500. The work starts with an inspection and a test of your battery. Then we open the battery up and replace the worn cells with new, high-quality cells. Every battery is reassembled, tested and put through a quality check before we release it for shipping or collection.

We have been re-celling e-bike batteries since 2017. A cell replacement is the cost-effective choice, and the sustainable one. Whether you come to us for a cell replacement or a repair, your battery lasts longer and you throw less away.

Need batteries inspected or repaired for your business?

We also work for bike shops, insurers, care and mobility aid organisations, lease and fleet operators, and manufacturers. You register batteries under your own reference and follow their status online. Each battery comes with its own test report. You can start with a single battery or a single batch.

E-bike battery repair

A fault in your e-bike battery does not automatically mean new cells or a new battery. Often the fault sits in a single part, and we can repair or replace that part.

  • Repairing parts (for example the charging port or charging connector)
  • Replacing the on/off switch
  • Replacing individual components
  • Replacing the circuit board (if the battery pack still has enough capacity)

E-bike battery cell replacement

A cell replacement means we replace the worn battery pack in your e-bike battery with a newly built pack. We test your battery before we re-cell it, so that we never re-cell a battery that is still good. If the test shows your battery is in good condition, we discuss this with you first. The cause may lie somewhere else: you may need a software update, the circuit board in the battery may be faulty, or something on the bike itself may be draining your battery faster.

Refurbished e-bike battery

A refurbished battery is a re-celled battery. It is an e-bike battery that we have already re-celled and that is ready to ship. You do not have to send in your own battery for a cell replacement, and you still make the sustainable choice.

A re-celled e-bike battery is just as good as a new one. The worn parts have been replaced with new parts. It comes with a 2-year warranty.
