Bosch PowerPack and PowerTube
The Netherlands is a cycling country if ever there was one, and it has a great many e-bikes and speed pedelecs. Each of them has an electric drive system with a matching battery. Among the many brands, Bosch stands out. Bike brands such as Gazelle, Sparta and Batavus like to use Bosch drive systems, of which the Active Line and the Active Line Plus are the most important. A Bosch drive system consists of a mid-drive motor, a Bosch e-bike battery and an on-board computer. Together these three components make a very reliable whole. In this article we tell you about the various Bosch batteries and what they are used for.
Resetting an e-bike battery
Do you want to reset your battery? Has your e-bike battery stopped working properly, or is it broken? There are several things you can try to get it going again. Ride until the battery is empty and no longer gives any assistance, then put it on the charger. You can also try taking the battery off the bike and letting it come up to room temperature. In the cold, a battery may refuse to charge. As soon as it has reached room temperature, connect it to the charger.
Re-celling an e-bike battery
If you notice that you have to charge your e-bike battery more often, or if it is faulty, you have a few options: buy a new e-bike, buy a new battery, or have the battery re-celled, which means we replace all the cells with new ones. That last option needs some explanation. A new battery is not available for every e-bike. In that case you can have your battery re-celled instead. A cell replacement can also work out cheaper than buying a new battery.
