An original charger comes from the same manufacturer as your battery. A universal charger works on the same voltage and with the same plug, but is made by another brand. Both are suitable; a universal charger is usually cheaper.
Yes. A charger with too high a voltage can damage the battery, and a plug that almost fits makes poor contact. Only use a charger with the same voltage and the same plug as your old one. The voltage is on the label of your battery and of your charger.

Club Car 48V LFP charger with 15 A
A 15 A charger for 48V lithium iron phosphate batteries in Club Car golf carts. LFP cells need their own charge profile, so this unit is meant for LFP packs only.
Do not use it on a lead-acid battery set or on a lithium pack with a different cell chemistry. If your cart was converted from lead-acid to lithium, find out which chemistry the new pack uses; the label or the paperwork from the conversion usually says so.
With 15 A of charging current a cart battery is full again sooner than with a smaller charger. Compare the plug with the one on your current charger before you order. The charger is sold new and the price is shown above.
