Find your situation
Insurers
A damaged battery? You get a technical conclusion in a test report and a repair proposal that fits your claims process.
Care and mobility aids
A mobility scooter or wheelchair battery that has failed? We repair where we can and replace only when we have to. One way of working for all your branches.
Bike leasing and rental
For each battery you can see its capacity, its history and the work carried out. Returns are organised to suit your fleet.
Fleet operators and bike sharing
Large volumes? We process batches and, if we agree it with you, report per batch. That keeps costs, performance and write-offs in view.
Bike dealers
You keep the customer, we do the battery work. Sending batteries in is simple and you get a clear quote back quickly.
Manufacturers and importers
A recurring defect or a technically complex battery? We work on it with you, down to circuit-board level.
Maritime
Modules or packs coming out during a refit or after a fault? We assess them in advance and set the job up as a project.
Automotive and hybrid
A module fault in a hybrid or electric car? We test each module to find the cause and repair what can safely be repaired.
Electric mopeds and scooter fleets
A moped or scooter battery that cuts out? We test it and repair only what is broken. One at a time for the dealer, in batches for a fleet.
What we stand for
We would rather repair than replace, because a battery with a broken charge port or one weak cell often has years left in it. Whether it does is something we decide after measuring. Never on a hunch.
Four commitments come with that, and you can hold us to them:
- we measure first and only then make a proposal;
- if it cannot be done, we tell you before we start, which means no surprises on the invoice;
- every battery gets its own record of what came in, what we measured and what we did;
- lithium is not an ordinary part, so safety is part of every step from intake to disposal.
KWS Seuren started in 2017 with three brothers tinkering with e-bike batteries. Today we work in Beugen with our own team and test equipment, and with electronics we developed ourselves for batteries whose parts are no longer available.
What we take off your hands
Not every battery problem calls for new cells. That is why business work with us starts with the question of what is technically needed.
- intake and diagnostics, per battery or per batch;
- capacity and cell-balance measurement;
- fault-finding and repair of electronics and BMS;
- repair of connectors, charge ports and housings;
- cell replacement, also known as re-celling;
- a refurbished replacement where appropriate;
- a final test and a record for each battery;
- collection, return and controlled disposal by arrangement.
Our services
Choose a single service or set up a fixed way of working. We measure first and advise afterwards, so you know in advance what is technically feasible.
For more background, read about battery regulation, sustainability and our knowledge and advice.
Battery diagnostics
We assess capacity, cell balance, charging behaviour, electronics and damage. Per battery or as a batch, with a clear next step.
Battery repair
Targeted repair of connectors, charge ports, wiring, electronics and BMS where technically possible. Good cells stay in place.
Cell replacement
We replace worn cells in an existing battery that is otherwise fit for use. With a technical intake beforehand and a final inspection afterwards.
Refurbished and exchange
A tested replacement battery, without waiting for the cells in your own battery to be replaced. Possible where stock and battery type allow.
Warranty and aftersales
Outsource diagnostics and technical aftersales. From dealer return to final test, return shipment and reporting against your criteria.
Pilots and batches
Test a new battery type on a representative batch first. Then you know what can be repaired and whether scaling up is justified.
Logistics and returns
Registration, packaging, collection, logging and return of your batteries. Set up to be practical and traceable.
BMS and electronics
Diagnosis and repair of selected BMS, circuit-board, connector and communication faults. Also for platforms that are out of production.
How we work
- You register the battery through our business team or the business portal, under your own reference.
- We collect under the arrangement that applies to your account, or you send the battery in.
- Diagnosis: a capacity measurement, a BMS check and a safety inspection. For business accounts we agree a diagnosis time; around three working days is achievable.
- Repair, cell replacement or a refurbished battery. Not possible? Then we tell you before we start.
- Return with a test report. 2-year warranty under our terms.
Throughout the process you can follow the status of each battery online in the business portal.
Quality and safety
KWS Seuren is ISO 9001:2015 certified for battery repair and cell replacement. For business customers that means a record for each battery and traceability from intake to return. You can use our reports for claims, audits and tenders.
We use PGS 37-2, the Dutch guideline for storing lithium batteries, as our safety and assessment framework. Batteries are checked and registered on arrival, higher-risk batteries are kept separate, and charging, testing and storage follow fixed procedures. Batteries at the end of their life go to controlled disposal.

Proven in practice
A few organisations that run their battery work through KWS, and what that looks like in practice. View all case studies.
ENRA: technical damage assessment
Battery claims follow a fixed process: intake by reference number, an initial test, a mandatory technical conclusion and a report to the insurer.
A mobility aid provider: one process for every branch
Batteries are collected at the branches, tested centrally and, where possible, repaired or reused as refurbished units. Replacement comes only after that.
A multi-branch bike dealer: the battery workshop behind the shop
Several of its branches send their battery work to us routinely, including warranty and insurance cases.
Maxtron: battery aftersales for a German e-bike brand
Winfield Vertriebs GmbH sent 24 orders with 53 batteries over nine consecutive months. Each battery was tested, reported on and repaired after approval.
Boat Bike Tours: battery checks for a bike fleet
Several batteries checked, tested and repaired where needed in one go, with a report of the checks carried out.
VanMoof batteries: replace only what is broken
Across 782 VanMoof batteries in 21 months, much of the work involved electronics, fuses and deep discharge. Good cells stayed in place.
Frequently asked questions
Request a business account through the B2B portal or get in touch for an introduction. Many organisations start with one battery or one batch and agree a fixed way of working afterwards.
Yes. KWS Seuren works for business customers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Dutch accounts have collection and return arrangements; international shipments are agreed in advance.
Yes. Business orders at KWS Seuren can carry a claim number, purchase order number or your own order number, so each case stays recognisable in your own systems.
We tell you after the diagnosis, before any work is done. KWS Seuren sends batteries that cannot be repaired to controlled disposal, or supplies a suitable replacement if that has been agreed.
Contact us before you ship a swollen, leaking or burnt battery. Damaged lithium batteries fall under separate ADR rules; KWS Seuren agrees packaging and transport with you in advance.
Business customers of KWS Seuren can pay afterwards, by invoice or by SEPA direct debit. Arrangements about references and reporting on the invoice are made per account.
A business account, or a conversation first?
With a business account you register batteries under your own reference and follow their status online. You pay by invoice or by SEPA direct debit.
Prefer to see how it works first? Start with one batch. You send in a few batteries of one type and receive a test report with advice for each battery. After that you decide whether we agree a fixed way of working.
