Case studies in detail
Boat Bike Tours: periodic checks of a bike fleet
102 batteries were assessed in three rounds: 16, 49 and 37. Tested, repaired where needed and written off when repair was not justified.
VanMoof batteries: no automatic cell replacement
782 batteries in 21 months, 637 of them through 16 business customers. Many faults were in electronics, fuses or deep discharge.
Maxtron: battery aftersales for a German e-bike brand
Winfield Vertriebs GmbH sent 24 orders with 53 batteries in nine consecutive months. Each battery was tested, reported on and repaired after approval.
Arts Evenementen: an e-chopper fleet in one batch
25 batteries given new cells in one go. One later battery only needed a new connector.
Golf GTE: battery modules in recurring batches
120 modules since March 2025. Each batch split into modules that can be repaired and modules that cannot.
ENRA: the technical side of battery damage taken care of
ENRA leaves the technical assessment of battery damage to KWS. One fixed process by claim number, a conclusion for each battery and repair under agreed decision rules.
Silence and SEAT MÓ: the fault is in the electronics, not the cells
When a Silence or SEAT MÓ battery stops charging, the cells are not always the cause. We assess cells and electronics separately and repair precisely what is broken.
By sector
Care and mobility aids: from a one-off battery query to a fixed returns process
KWS supports a mobility aid provider with battery service across several locations. The work runs from intake and diagnosis to repair, refurbished supply, return logistics and records. We assess usable batteries technically first, before replacement or write-off is considered.
Insurers: technical substantiation behind a claim
For insurers we link the battery to the claim reference, carry out the agreed technical assessment and record the conclusion. Repair or write-off then follows under the decision rules that apply to your claims process.
Lease and fleets: a verdict for each battery
For fleets we test per batch and report for each battery what can be done with it: back into use, repair, cell replacement, a refurbished replacement or disposal.
Bike dealers: the battery workshop behind the shop
Dealers with several locations send batteries to KWS for intake and repair. The dealer remains the customer's point of contact and does the work on the bike; we do the battery work.
