Frequently asked questions
An original charger comes from the same manufacturer as your battery. A universal charger works on the same voltage and with the same plug, but is made by another brand. Both are suitable; a universal charger is usually cheaper.
Yes. A charger with too high a voltage can damage the battery, and a plug that almost fits makes poor contact. Only use a charger with the same voltage and the same plug as your old one. The voltage is on the label of your battery and of your charger.

Giant EnergyPak Smart Charger 6A: 36V fast charger
This original Giant charger from the G-system delivers 36V at 6 A. Type number 544M36V6A-01V. According to Giant it charges an EnergyPak Smart battery to more than 60% within an hour.
It keeps in contact with the battery while charging. If a cell gets too warm, it pauses charging that cell and carries on with the others, which helps the battery last longer. It fits e-bikes including the Giant Explore E, the Giant Trance E, the Liv Amiti E and the Giant Road E.
