That means we either put the original capacity back or raise it above the original, and we do so using the latest generation of lithium-ion cells. Stella battery upgrade
When you have your Stella battery upgraded at KWS Seuren, we renew the whole inside of the battery. After the upgrade you have a battery with new cells again, one that covers the distances it used to. While re-celling a Stella battery we can also raise its capacity. Upgrading a Gazelle battery
You can have your Gazelle e-bike battery upgraded at KWS Seuren. We can repair or cell replacement almost every Gazelle battery. In a cell replacement we fit either the original capacity or a higher one, so you need to charge your battery less often. Our Gazelle page lists all the Gazelle batteries we re-cell. They include most Gazelle Innergy batteries as well as the Panasonic batteries.
Sparta batteries
We carry out Sparta battery upgrades entirely in-house. We re-cell the complete inside, and you have a renewed Sparta e-bike battery again. An upgrade is usually called for when the capacity has dropped or the battery has stopped working altogether. We can nearly always solve that with a small repair, or with a cell replacement if one is needed. We always check your battery and your charger before we re-cell anything. What is a battery upgrade?
A battery upgrade for an e-bike means the capacity of the battery is increased, so you can ride longer distances than before. We do that by re-celling the old battery pack and fitting cells with a higher capacity, which the latest lithium-ion technology makes possible. On many batteries the range goes up considerably, and on some it doubles. You get more range and better-quality cells, and with those a longer battery life. Batteries from various brands and models can be upgraded, so the original capacity is not only restored but can be raised as well.
How can I upgrade my e-bike battery?
To upgrade your e-bike battery you go to a specialist workshop such as KWS Seuren, which re-cells and upgrades batteries from a wide range of brands. The service is a complete cell replacement of the inside of the battery, in which the capacity can be set to a higher value. It starts with a thorough check of the battery and the charger, so that only batteries that really need it are re-celled. Afterwards your e-bike battery performs as it should again, or better, and you can ride your e-bike for longer and with more confidence.

What ‘upgrade’ means
