Frequently asked questions
Some batteries are built in a way that rules out repair. The cells may be potted in glue, the casing may not open without being destroyed, or the software may refuse the battery once work has been done on it. Sometimes the BMS fails for good during the job. If this page lists a new or refurbished battery, that is your replacement. Private customers can hand in the old battery free of charge when they bring it in; businesses, please contact us first. The types we cannot repair are listed on our beyond-repair page.

KTM Freeride E-XC 260V: what KWS can do with this pack
The 260V pack of the KTM Freeride E-XC is one of the few batteries we do not re-cell. The circuit boards inside are sensitive and the pack is built in a way that does not survive opening and closing, so a cell replacement is off the table.
What is sometimes possible is a repair to the charging port or the housing. Whether that applies to your pack depends on the fault, so get in touch before you place an order and describe what the battery does. We tell you whether it is worth sending in.
The specifications below list the pack at 260V. Check the label on your own battery against them before you get in touch, so we know we are talking about the same pack.
