The price appears at the top of this page as soon as you select Battery revision (our full cell replacement) and a capacity. Shipping is included, and so is the intake test: you do not pay for it separately when we re-cell your battery. If the intake test shows that something else is needed, you get a new proposal first. Only if you turn that down do we charge the €95 inspection fee.
In a cell replacement we swap every cell in your battery for a new one. The casing and the connector stay yours, so the battery fits back in its place afterwards. Before we start, we run an intake test. If the problem is somewhere else, say the charging port or the electronics, you hear that first and get a proposal that fits. KWS Seuren has been re-celling batteries since 2017.
You choose from 20.1Ah, 13.4Ah, 10Ah. More Ah means more energy in the same casing, so you get further on one charge. How much further depends on load, riding style, wind and temperature, which is why we do not quote kilometres. What we do guarantee: the capacity you order is the capacity you get.
Register your battery on this page and follow the steps at checkout; we arrange the collection and send you the tracking details by email, with the time the courier will come. Put in the box: the printed insert form, the battery, the charger, and the key in a sealed envelope if your battery has a lock (do not tape it to the battery). Without the charger and the key we cannot test your battery fully. Your bike stays at home. Ask the courier for a proof of handover; that is your proof of shipping.
Two years. It covers the new cell pack and every part we replace during the cell replacement, including a new circuit board. We guarantee the capacity you order, not a number of kilometres. The full terms are in our warranty conditions.
That depends on how busy the workshop is and on what we find in the intake test, so we do not quote a fixed number of days here. The current lead time is on our lead-time page.

Giant LaFree 24V battery: new cells
The Giant LaFree runs on a 24V frame battery with 10 Ah. After years of use the original cells give noticeably less support on longer rides.
The Battery revision option on this page is a full cell replacement in your own Giant casing. You pick 10, 13.4 or 20.1 Ah. With 20.1 Ah the LaFree goes roughly twice as far as on its factory pack. You see the price for each capacity above.
First the BMS and the cells are tested. A fault in the board or the charging port goes through Battery repair, with a proposal and price before we start. Your new LaFree cells come with two years of warranty.
