Who is it for?

For bike shops (B2B)

  • A quick answer: first an intake test (the baseline measurement), and only then a proposal.

  • Less discussion: we back up what we say with measurements and fixed checkpoints.

  • Consistent quality: repair and cell replacement follow a documented process (not ‘gut feeling’).

  • Clear status and follow-up: you know what is going on and when you can expect to hear from us.

The result: you can keep your customer better informed, with less confusion and less ringing back and forth.

For private customers (B2C)

  • You get clarity first: what is wrong, and what is the smartest route?

  • A repair where that is possible, a cell replacement where it is needed (and sometimes another option is the better one).

  • Intake test plus final test: we test before and after, so no battery leaves the workshop unchecked.

  • When a battery is part of an insurance claim, we work with insurers on the damage assessment, among them the Dutch bike insurer ENRA.

For mobility aid suppliers and care partners

  • Reliable and predictable, because the steps and checks are fixed and everything is recorded.

  • Safety first: a safety inspection, put on record, before we start any technical work.

  • Documentation and traceability: useful for your internal files and for reporting back to your client.

  • We work with partners in the mobility aids market, such as Kersten in the Netherlands.

Quality is not an end point but a way of working

KWS Seuren specialises in repairing and re-celling batteries for e-bikes, mobility aids and scooters, among other things, with customers in the Netherlands and in large parts of Germany and Belgium. From the workshop in Beugen a team of about 25 people works towards one goal every day: bringing batteries back, safely and reliably, to a working and tested condition. In doing so we weigh quality against affordability and sustainability.

ISO 9001 fits the way we work: measure and record first, then improve. We use our findings and warranty cases, and the causes that keep coming back, to be organised a little smarter and tighter every month.

‘We want customers to know exactly where they stand,’ says the management of KWS Seuren. ‘Not only in what we do technically, but also in how we communicate, how we check and how we keep improving. ISO 9001 helps us to anchor this in the organisation and to make it demonstrable.’

A clear process: from incoming check to final check

KWS Seuren works in a structured way in which every step of a repair or cell replacement is recorded. That gives clear status points and fixed checkpoints, and a process that is easy to follow both for us and for the customer.

Booking in and registration

We open a file: the battery, the customer details and the complaint are recorded.

Safety check

We check whether the battery is safe to handle and spot risks early. How that check fits into the way we work with PGS 37-2 and lithium battery safety is explained on a separate page.

Extensive intake test

Objective measurement: what does the battery really do? How much capacity does it have left, and what condition is the rest of the battery in? This is the basis for a sound diagnosis.

Diagnosis and clear communication

You hear what we found and what the best next step is: repair, cell replacement or an alternative.

Carrying out the work with fixed quality checks

We work with fixed work steps and checkpoints.

Final test

Before the battery goes back we test again and do a final check: does it work as agreed?

Reporting back and completion

The battery is packed and shipped, or is ready for collection. Everything stays linked to the file.

A process you can follow: which status updates can you expect?

We like to keep things clear. That is why we work with status points (internally and towards the customer), such as:

Intake test: we measure and record the baseline

Diagnosis: we decide on the best solution and report back

Repair or cell replacement: we carry out the chosen route

Assembly and closing the battery: everything is put together neatly and checked

Final test: last test plus final check

Packing and shipping / handover at the counter: ready for shipping or collection

Waiting for parts / customer contact: when we are waiting for a delivery or for your reply

Continuous improvement as a culture: better organised every month

Alongside the technical work, KWS Seuren is deliberately building an organisation that works more predictably: less rework and a calmer schedule, with a front office that acts as a ‘control room’, keeps the overview and makes sure things are followed up. This is part of a wider aim: to go from a busy specialist workshop to a tightly run service company that steers on measurable figures and has quality assurance built in.

About KWS Seuren

KWS Seuren B.V. specialises in diagnosing lithium-based batteries and in repairing and re-celling them, for e-bikes, mobility aids, scooters and related applications. The company is based in Beugen, the Netherlands, and serves customers in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. KWS Seuren takes the sustainable route: repair and improve where possible. The work is organised around the customer, with a strong focus on safety and quality and on being open about what we do.

Frequently asked questions

That our way of working is set up for consistent quality: fixed process steps, clear responsibilities, measuring points and continuous improvement.

Every step is recorded (status, test results, the work carried out and the checks). That makes the job traceable internally and lets us communicate clearly with the customer.

The intake test is the baseline (what is the problem and what can be measured). The final test and final check confirm that the solution works and that the battery leaves the workshop checked.

By measuring systematically, analysing deviations and customer feedback, recording improvement actions and then actually embedding them in how we work and communicate.

More predictability, better documentation and traceability, consistent quality, and a professional communication and service process towards the end customer.
