Frequently asked questions

We do not offer a cell replacement for this type. That means one of two things: the cells cannot be taken out of this battery, or we have not seen enough of them yet to set a fixed price for a cell replacement. Repair is possible. The fault is then usually in the charging port or the electronics. Register the battery on this page, we run an intake test and send you a quote. We only start once you have agreed.

We know after the intake test, because the price depends on the part that has failed. You get a quote first. Expect more than €95. That amount is our inspection fee, and you only pay it if you turn down our proposal; we then send the battery back. If you accept, you pay for the repair and no inspection fee. If there is nothing we can do for your battery, it costs you nothing.

Register your battery on this page and follow the steps at checkout; we arrange the collection and send you the tracking details by email, with the time the courier will come. Put in the box: the printed insert form, the battery, the charger, and the key in a sealed envelope if your battery has a lock (do not tape it to the battery). Without the charger and the key we cannot test your battery fully. Your bike stays at home. Ask the courier for a proof of handover; that is your proof of shipping.

That depends on how busy the workshop is and on what we find in the intake test, so we do not quote a fixed number of days here. The current lead time is on our lead-time page.

Yes, on the work we carried out and on the parts we replaced. The warranty does not cover parts of the battery we did not work on. If we repair the charging port, for example, the cells are not included. The full terms are in our warranty conditions.

Specialized Turbo Vado and Como 36V battery: repair for SBC-B09, B10, B11 and B17

Specialized builds the 36V frame battery of the Turbo Vado and Turbo Como in several versions: SBC-B09, SBC-B10, SBC-B11 and SBC-B17, from 12.5 Ah up to 16.8 Ah. For these packs we offer repair, not a cell replacement. The electronics are tightly coupled to the bike, so we do not swap the cells.

What we do repair: a failed BMS or circuit board, a charging port that no longer makes contact, and a pack left flat so long that the charger refuses it. Register the battery on this page and send it in with the charger. We test the cells and the BMS, trace the fault and send you a proposal with the price.

We start only once you have agreed. Decline, and the battery comes back for the inspection fee stated on this page.

How to recognise your Turbo Vado or Como battery

Specialized prints the part code on the label of the pack: SBC-B09, SBC-B10, SBC-B11 or SBC-B17, sometimes with the number 98917-5633 beside it. Next to it is the capacity: 12.5 Ah (460 Wh), 14 Ah (504 Wh) or 16.8 Ah (604 Wh). The bike matters less than the label: the Turbo Vado 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 and the Turbo Como 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 all use this family, as do the first-generation Vado and Como. Packs from the Turbo S and the Turbo Levo are different types with their own pages, so compare your label with the codes here before you order.
