Frequently asked questions
Some batteries are built in a way that rules out repair. The cells may be potted in glue, the casing may not open without being destroyed, or the software may refuse the battery once work has been done on it. Sometimes the BMS fails for good during the job. If this page lists a new or refurbished battery, that is your replacement. Private customers can hand in the old battery free of charge when they bring it in; businesses, please contact us first. The types we cannot repair are listed on our beyond-repair page.

Votani X1 and X2 36V carrier battery: why we cannot take it in
The Votani X1 and X2 use a 36V 8.8Ah carrier battery, type 6K.Y21BP.004. This is one of the packs we cannot help with. The electronics inside are too sensitive, so neither a cell replacement nor a repair is possible, which is why every option on this page reads Not available.
Please do not send this battery in. Do check the label first, though. If the type number on your pack differs from 6K.Y21BP.004, search our site for that number, because it may well be a battery we do work on. The specifications below give the full details of this one, so you can compare.
