Frequently asked questions
The price appears at the top of this page as soon as you select Battery revision (our full cell replacement) and a capacity. Shipping is included, and so is the intake test: you do not pay for it separately when we re-cell your battery. If the intake test shows that something else is needed, you get a new proposal first. Only if you turn that down do we charge the €95 inspection fee.
In a cell replacement we swap every cell in your battery for a new one. The casing and the connector stay yours, so the battery fits back in its place afterwards. Before we start, we run an intake test. If the problem is somewhere else, say the charging port or the electronics, you hear that first and get a proposal that fits. KWS Seuren has been re-celling batteries since 2017.
Register your battery on this page and follow the steps at checkout; we arrange the collection and send you the tracking details by email, with the time the courier will come. Put in the box: the printed insert form, the battery, the charger, and the key in a sealed envelope if your battery has a lock (do not tape it to the battery). Without the charger and the key we cannot test your battery fully. Your bike stays at home. Ask the courier for a proof of handover; that is your proof of shipping.
Two years. It covers the new cell pack and every part we replace during the cell replacement, including a new circuit board. We guarantee the capacity you order, not a number of kilometres. The full terms are in our warranty conditions.

Sachs Elo 24V battery: re-celled at 30 Ah
Sachs used this 24V frame battery on its Elo e-bikes, models including the Elo Classic, the Elo Touring and the Elo Bike. The original pack held 15 Ah. Many of these bikes are old enough that the cells have little left to give.
KWS replaces them inside your own Sachs casing, and this type gets 30 Ah: twice the capacity it had from the factory. That is the only capacity on offer; the Battery revision option on this page is this full cell replacement, and the price is shown above.
Every pack is tested before new cells go in, BMS included. Should the fault be in the board or the charging port, Battery repair gives you a proposal after testing. Fitted cells carry a two-year warranty from KWS.
